Bone Tool Found

This is the first of this type of relic I have ever found. It is the diameter of a pencil about 2 inches long. Any ideas?

I agree with Steve, but if it seems to be very well made and polished up top it might have also been what is commonly called a hairpin.
 
I don't know why I didn't think of that Joshua. Being as decorated as it is, it probably was a Hairpin. Good call.
 
Dang that's nice!
I'll say it again, I've seen museums without bone artifacts. Excellent find and a real treasure.
 
Awesome find!!! I would start at the spot where I found it and work an ever widening circle out to see if there are more items like that. Thanks for sharing it.
