With deer season in full swing in these parts ive been staying out of the woods for respect to the hunters, so its bottle dump digging time. Took my wife to a 50s-70s bottle dump near my cabin hoping to find a coke bottle or two. We successfully found some soda bottles but i was surprised to find a Trumpet. I pulled the horn end first and thought it might be an old truck air horn but out popped the musical instrument. After a short ride home im my truck i realized a family of spiders were living in the horn end. So i sprayed what i could under the water hose and took it in the shower. Im debating on attempting to polish or display as is. As for makers marks there is something on the end near the horn but i cant make it out. Any insight on brand or maker is appreciated.

Pretty cool find. I wonder how old it is and why was it tossed?

i would leave it as it is. also try to find a mouthpiece for it and see if it works...
Thats an awesome find regardless of how old it is.
Congrats

Yeah its staying as is, there is some rust adhesion from something it was against and would ne difficult to remove and i think it looks really cool tarnished, im guessing its missing a mouthpiece and a cap for one of the "buttons" im clueless on this type of item

It looks good regardless. I really like that it is engraved. Im guessing its older just because of the design. I played saxophone i know nothing about trumpets. Im guessing it was tossed because of the missing cap on the bottom possibly. Would make a cool lamp..

Super cool find. The owner probably didn't throw it away, but one of the neighbors might have. :D

That's a cool recovery, it'll display up nicely.

It really does go to show us we never know what we'll find when treasure hunting. I found the mouth piece for an old tuba once but, "fortunately" not the whole instrument. Cool digs mate.:icon_thumright:

That is really cool and hilarious I'm sure many people would find it hard to believe some of the crazy stuff we find. That is awesome.. Thanks for posting it!!!!!
