hi all found this under my grandmother house, while working today. house built in 1869 this area has been sealed of from the rest of the area under the house. It still has the cork in it but no fluids, it has a number 3 on the bottom, no other writing or number at all.

i would like to know if possible the year and what it might have been used for.

thanks

Thats definitely a medicine bottle. My TOC glass manufacturers book calls it a "ball neck panel." It looks like the "no. 13 style (extra tall)". I guess the diamond mark is Owens like rvrpilot said.. :-\ http://www.myinsulators.com/glass-factories/bottlemarks3.html

Dont forget the green check. (it makes us look good) ;D
