Bought a book

I was in a used book store today with my Wife and ran across "Warman's Coins and Currency" by Bergman and Malloy.
Encyclopedia of antiques and collectibles also.
Even though it is a 1995 version there is no indication that it has ever been read. I figured $2.00 was a good price.
Now I don't have to run to the computer to look up a coin.

I wouldn't stop looking up coins on the computer just yet!
In 1995, silver was around 5 bucks an ounce and gold was like $300 to $400 an ounce. This will make a difference on coins with precious metals.
Also, the trends have changed in 20 years due to the large amount being sold on the Internet and some increased in value due to scarcity.
I have noticed new varieties being added to the books in the last 20 years as well.
Some coins haven't changed much since 1995 but I wouldn't rely on your new purchase primarily. JMHO.

Even if your book is out of date price wise, it is still a useful tool to help you identify the rarity of coins and currency you find, or identify foreign money. I think $2 is a good price for that.

I agree Susan. My Redbook is a couple years old but I still use it to look up coins to see rarity as compared to other coins. I never use the net. Your 2 bucks was spent well IMO.
