It came as a set with a huge thick .925 silver bracelet ... I thought the necklace was silver at first and for the first few days until I looked closer to the detailmanship of the clasp connectors I realized the craftsmanship of the clasp connectors was more of a goldsmiths workmanship... Also I noticed the weight was something else much heavier than silver normally would be... It didn't have the white silver oxidization on the inner parts of the links either.. I completely forgot of the idea that it might be white gold until I researched on eBay that these Cuban curb link chains are also made in white gold and their price is in the $3000 - $4500 price range for something of this weight and craftsmanship... I have to still weigh it out and determine which karat it is with a acid test kit .... Super excited now... A $40 garage sale find!

Very nice score! :occasion14:

CANT TOUCH THIS . NICE FIND.

I hope it is gold. I have never seen a gold chain with links that were not soldered closed though. A nice score if real. Congrats

Closer up

Made a regimented scale out of a small convection oven pan and a long handled wood stirring spoon ... My counterweight were known increments of silver eagles (31.1g) half dollars (12.5g) quarters (5.67g) and silver dimes (2.5g)

So I began by setting the cooking pan in the center over the wood handle until the pan balanced perfectly on the wood handle.. I set my necklace all the way to one side in a pile on the opposite side I started adding 1 oz silver eagles Added 2... No it still wouldn't equalibriate... Added 2 half dollars.. Still nothing.. Added a quarter.. Started to lift... Added a silver dime... The pan equilibriated again.. Added up all the counterweights to 95.37 grams... So my white gold necklace weighs a little over 3 oz x 1250 per oz = $3750 not including casting the links assembly of the links casting the end links and then that may be another $500 - $1000 surcharge ... So I'm estimating it would cost $4250 - $4750 to make in today's market that's is of course if its 18k gold

Wow!! Can I borrow a Grand? :laughing7:
Very nice discovery !! May good Fortune keep shining your way....

I'd acid test 3 or 4 times as things like this 'For Me' are usually too good to be true.

Even if Silver = Score.

Watch out for Tungsten or Surgical Stainless.
