bounty hunter cam-locks

received a free shaft cam-lock from Bounty Hunter today, to fix the loose fit but the instructions sent are not real clear. I can see how it's suppose to work but can't get it on the shaft and all three pieces snapped together. Has anyone had any experience with these after-market pieces? I even tried to see how the ones on my other brand detector compared but that didn't help either.
