Bounty Hunter Quicksilver, Rechargeable 9 volt Batteries

I'm new to the forum as well as metal detecting. So naturally i have a few questions. I tried to contact bounty hunter support through their contact us link but all i got was a internal server error. my question is, does anybody have any experience running rechargeable 9 volt batteries in a Bounty Hunter Quicksilver? If you have whats your recommendation on batteries? Thanks in Advance.

I do not have any direct experience (yet) but my research says that NiMH batteries should work just fine.
It was also confirmed in the Tech Talk section here as well. Look for a discussion about a Sharp Shooter II.
I'll be trying some out in a few weeks. Right now I have a stash of alkalines already purchased.

I use EBL 9vs in all 4 of the families Bounty Hunters....work great.

Good to know. I think Li-ions last longer and charge faster, correct?

NIMH batteries usually come with quick chargers that charge in like 10-15 minutes...some have fans on them they get so hot while charging.

These Li-Ion 9V take a good 3-4 hours...I usually just leave them on it overnight since it has a built in cut-off. (Think cell phones...same type of battery)

The advantage of Li-Ion is they can be charged many more times (no 500 charge limit)....don't hold a memory...and retain their charge on the shelf much better.
