Think its possible to get enough silver dimes to reroll them and fill a box in a year? I'm going to try to start doing 12 boxes a week and start getting more as my paychecks come in and I have more money to work with. I'm looking foward to the day that I can keep an entire box locked away in a safe. 250 face value with a 5500 melt value. That's some return on your investment!

With an average of about 1.5 per box 12 boxes a week that's about 18 per week x52 weeks is 516 dimes
Box of dimes is $250= 2500 dimes
If u keep normal average it will take u a lot longer but 516 dimes is still not bad to put away
And like I said that is based on averages if u hit stupid luck and up it orders like u said its always possible u never know one box could bring u to that dream of urs ( doubtful but u never know u could get a super hit of a 1964 box lol)

Boy would I love to stumble across a 1964 box haha. I think I would die if that happened haha

I filled a box of $500 silver halves twice over since December of 2011. It can be done with dimes I am sure-

40%ers or 90%er? or combination?
Sure it could be done, but you be looking at about 50 boxes a week to do it with dimes. 2500 coins at 1.5 per box is alot of boxes of dimes and alot of dimes being counted as cents when running them back through the machine

500+ keepers a month N8 ? Didn't realize you were hitting it that good. I remember you had some decent stuff but I didn't recall you being in the DB23 range, nice work. How many boxes per week / average are you getting?

For the OP unless there are literally no halves and you are on like 100 box skunk streak I would still stick with halves. For a while I had been mixing dimes into my routine, tens of thousands per month, but when I ran the #'s for time to ounces it was still 4x better to do halves.

Also, its just a little pet peeve of mine, but some of you guys always talk in $$$ when you haven't sold anything. A block of silver is only worth face value until you convert the ounces to currency, so please talk in terms of ozT until you actually sell it :-)

I'm going to do a combination of halves and dimes. Right now I'm waiting on my first box of halves. Found a bank that will order them for me. I'll eventually try to get from other banks too. I don't want to go all out yet and lose potential banks. Until I get a decent amount of banks that will order I'm going to do dimes too. Like I'll go through my halves and then get two dimes. Need to see how it goes.

And I actually found a machine that counts dimes well. Did a box and was only shorted 20 cents, one because there was a foreign coin and one could have been lost in the process. Overall I don't mind losing 20 cents after finding 4 silver

Don't forget to ask for the rolls turned into the bank. You might get lucky and find some solid silver rolls, maybe even some Mercs.

My dime avereage this year is dismal, good luck and hopefully you can score some solid rolls!

I'm probably guilty of that, but I do it because I probably would have bought the silver anyway if CRH wasn't an option, so to me it represents money I didn't have to spend. I had no plans of selling any of my silver. :icon_thumleft:
