The snow had gone & the temp was up :icon_sunny: Really nice 3 hours hunting a Wheat Stubble Field we have left until last. We did this new field now as we were waiting for the long stubble to weather a bit.
Quite a lot of old Lead which was encouraging but not much to go with it.

Pleased with the Early 19th C Militia Button with SV (S? Volunteers) 8) One I need.
2 Medieval Buckles
Part of a Roman Fibula (Brooch/Pin)
Counterstamped Geo Halfpenny (Marked 'SN' or 'NS')
1 Roman Coin
1 Nice Leather Mount
Bits....

As you say, I don't expect much this time of year. Having a ploughed stubble field, even a poor one is a blessing this time of year. Plus there is always a chance of a good find in a random field even if we have to work for it.
Good luck tomorrow :icon_thumright:

Oh God I'm so jealous :( :'( :'( :'(

Crusader good hunting ...

Thanks guys, this maybe the last hunt of 2009 :( I may get one more in before the end of the year.

Then its roll-on 2010, new year, new targets. Must try harder next year

I'm not sure I would bother with 6 inches of snow, 4 seems to be the limit of being worth it :o

As always some nice relics you found. Always enjoy reading your posts.

A try shows commitment, what you really needed was a snow plough!
