Small brass triple loop chain or bracelet maybe jewelry or an animal trap. Any ideas?

I think I remember seeing chain like that as belts women would wear as an ornamentation on dress's also have seen it on purses it would have had a silver or gold tone to it before being weathered.

could be from anything from watch chain to part of hanging lamp to part of a purse.
