Brand new to Gold - Central/Western Massachusetts

Hello, Im new to gold prospecting but I really want to get out there and learn more about it. Im wondering if there is anyone who would like to meet up sometime and teach me what they could. I live in Athol MA and dont mind travelling farther west, or into surrounding states. If there is someone out there who would like to teach a new guy the ropes, it would be greatly appreciated. I have a metal detector and can purchase any other equipment that will be needed. The only reason I havnt purchased more yet is because I find it foolish to invest money into something I know basically nothing about (but would love to learn more).

AURUSH--- r u still looking / interested in doing/learning about prospecting?? Just got this ap for my phone. I too just got my first detector and mainly for gold prospecting . I also NEW to it all... But doing a lot of reading/ research ect. Looking to head up north this spring to find some. pAYDIRT!! Anyway I live in rehoboth ma. We mite be able to partner up? Learn the ropes? Two heads better than one. Anyway. If nothing else co. /conversation for the ride upand back .im thinking. Nh / VT. I'm married w kids so working on a budget . I'm on a mission. And I'm a make it happen kind of guy. We will find some gold!! ( just don't know how much). Let me know. Or anyone else reading this
