Brass Ball and Suspender Clip?

I made the trek back to my NE Pa long-lost town last weekend and did... tried to do... some detecting. As expected, the ground cover's a bit thick in some areas but, under the tall canopy, I was able to work some of the area.

I found these two things and would love to hear some ideas. The ball is brass and is about 1 1/8" diameter. This was a town built around lumber and tanning. I was thinking the brass ball could of been used in a tumbler or something to soften the hides? The clip I have no idea. My wife laughed when I replied to her asking what it was, "It's a brazier clip for a massive set of DD's". I got the eye-roll as well. I was thinking maybe suspender clip?

Either way, it was a cool trip. I'll be heading back at the end of July and will hit the town area again and prob work the creek that ran through as well.

Based on my finds, most of them do not have a Ford logo.
I have a brass ball on my counter right now that might be the same or very similar. Anyone got any ideas on that item?

There's a script font word that starts with "pi". that's all that's left.

On the buzz coil point, only the original will have Ford. Most are after market. The ball looks like a check ball from a pump.

Possibly also a gravity check-valve ball. I used to work at the Fairbanks Valve foundry and we had similar.

I have found 4 or 5 matching brass balls at old sites in Pa as well. Theory is that they are either black powder mill balls or check valve balls for old pumps.
