Hi everyone, might be copper, can't tell. Has an oval hole on one side, an a rivet on the other, with a bit of an edge on the longer end. It's about 1/16th on an inch thick, not sheet brass, can't flex it w/out laying into it.Found at House site 1860s where a cobbler once resided. Does have an iron stain but I can't tell if it connected or if a nail was laying on it for years... thanks, Snaps

Looks like a patch or cover for something. The rust makes me think that it's a piece of old galvanized tin?

Thanks for replies, Tony, if you heard the sound it made youd know it wasnt tin, vhs07 nailed it! An old shoe support at an old cobblers residence-perfect- was hoping for something like that....Snaps
