interesting? Never thought of that it would make sense with the folded over design. the brass is cracking and seems very light for something that would get so much use though.. I sent them a email last night so hopefully GIMBALS has someone that know their history.

I think there's no doubt that Charlie is correct. These tongs were an advertising item which were somewhat disposable, maybe on par with the chop sticks you get at a Chinese restaurant (or the nicer ones they used to give you).
