🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Brass cap?

Found this item at mid 1800's homesite. It is brass and is tapered like a cap or plug. I saw on a youtube video a while back that someone had found one also. Can't find the video now. Curious if anyone has any info. Thanks for any help.
