Brass, 1/2” in length. Has wood in it like was forced in not a root.
RESCO imprinted on one side.
USA on other.

It is part of a pet lead made by Resco pet products here is a link to a picture of a lead.https://www.google.com/imgres?imgur...PeAhVHh-AKHT6iAo8QMwiXASgQMBA&iact=mrc&uact=8The lead was adjustable.The wood in it is more than likely is leather or nylon lead material.The 3rd and 6th picture show your clip.
