I have found several of these at one of my dig sites, Pre-1950's. The shortest one is about 1 1/2 inches long. The square ends have a small notch across the end and each has a alphabet letter stamped into them. There is a thin brass strip, bradded on one end that fit inside the long slot. I have seen these somewhere before, but I just can't remember where. But it seems like maybe the are from a toy piano?
