I have a feeling it is a door knocker.

It is a ladies pin type brooch....missing the keeper and pin.

Looks too heavy for a brooch and too light for a knocker. Drawer pull might be right.

The small diameter and the distance from the door plate (once mounted) wouldn’t allow for much of a knock, IMO. I agree that it appears quite heavy for a brooch. A drawer pull for a buffet door, etc would make sense to me. I agree with gunsil.

I hadn’t seen this type of mount/striker before. that may be right, but I’m still struggling with the small size. I doubt if I’d answer the door, wouldn’t hear that little tap.
