Brass Golf Tee/ Coke Spoon?

I found this brass golf-tee-like item in the water. Its very much like the size and shape of a golf tee, but its not cupped, but flat. The other end is flattened but not cupped either, so it wouldn't make a good coke spoon or golf tee. I keep thinking ive seen something like this, but cant place it. Some kind of pin that fits into a slot. Have at it!!!

Looks like a spring retainer stud for a brake shoe.

I think it is just a brass nail

Wouldn't think brake retainer pins would be brass. Had several pipe nails (pipe tampers that looked just about like it but it seems a little short. Would be long enough to tamp but not long enough to clean out pipe.
