brass hanger ?

Nothing special today but a brass hanger. The homestead that I'm detecting dates back to the late 1700's to the early
1800's and has produced some good finds. I've found other hangers before but not like this one, any help would be appreciated.

Think that this is horse and buggy / wagon related. Ring that horse reigns would be run through from the horse bit back to the driver.

yes a type of reign guide, I think they were on heavy horse without the buggy
