At first glance appears to be a bridle rosette that had a lead backing at one time. I cannot make out the design though. Hopefully someone can make it out.

It's an eagle!!!! Now does anybody have a clue to what it went to, age? I did find an 1802-1830's navy button nearby and a 1817 large cent.

It had a few baths in a new magnasonic ultrasonic cleaner from Amazon. I love it.

Man, I really want to know what that is! Too big for a button, too small for a breast plate, right size for a buckle tongue but they were never lead filled (to my knowledge) and never seen a rosette that looked like that. SOMEBODY tell us what that is!!
