Brass lock

Looking for help to id this brass lock.
Found at an old homestead in the UP, Mi.
Only writing says PAT'D 101 or 191.

I found a lock that looks something like that. Don't know what make it is but if you look on the inside of the lever where the hinge opens up, it should have the date, mine says 1892. Hope this helps. John

The patent date for this warded brass padlock is 1891. (Maker unknown.)

Not absolutely positive but S. B. & Company is said to be the manufacturers of these. Patented in 1891 I have seen some 1892 and 1894.
