I found this in a dual use Civil War camp near the Battle of Pea Ridge in Arkansas. It may, of course, be from a later date than that.
It is three inches long. It is brass. It was hinged on one end with a screw type "stop" and the other end is more worn from use and also has a hole for another hinge for attaching something.
It is stamped with what appears to be "665" although that's debatable.
