This piece has intrigued me to the point of joining this site. It is curved on the back with symbols between the lettering. Please help? ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1521341589.571533.webp

Do the visible letters read "his*mag"?

Sorry my man, but I've looked high and low trying to identify your find or something close to it, but to no avail. The only thing I could find was the possibility it's a stamp with the "MA" possibly saying either "Majesty" or "Magistrate". Sorry I couldn't help and further, that one has me stumped... ??? :icon_scratch: :dontknow:

"D"

Thank you for your time. This thing is baffling me.

Yes, the visible letters read “his” and “mag” with an unidentifiable symbol between.

It appears both end are broken and it is tapered smaller in the “mag” end.

Is it possible it's a desk plate or magistrates bench plate? Just thinking out loud... "D"

it looks like there is a * on the left as well
* HIS * MAG. this could also be Latin. Really hard to tell without more of it.
