🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Brass piece

Found in close proximity to a mid 1700s to present house site. Found multiple flat buttons and a few cw bullets over the years in the same area. It’s brass.

Any ideas?

Small pitcock/valve handle.

That was my first thought too……(along with spigot), but what’s throwing me is that one “arm” is open on the end, the other is not. Any thoughts on why/how that would work?

It looks like yes, in the “short” hole. I don’t see threads in the long thin piece
