Hello All,

I’m not certain this can be ID’ed but I’m hoping it can. Weird little find made of brass, once heavily gold gilded, with a tiny silver flower on it. Came from a site where the most recent coin dug was 1842. I’m not certain the other brass piece (gilded daisy) was once a part of the silver decorated piece or not, but it was dug less than 3 feet away. Side view of the top piece included as well:

Another hand made piece. Not much chance of matching it with any amount of research...

If I had to guess I'd say part(s) of a dangly earring.

I was thinkin' Jesus off a crucifix but really not sure as the silver flower in the center would be wrong.

Purse latch seems to work, so in the absence of other info I’ll call it that. Thanks all! Was worth a shot!

Thought about this again. I wonder if it's the remains for a dauber from a chatelaine scent bottle. This bottle is 2 1/2 inches long/tall.

Really interesting and nice artifact. After rotating the top piece 180 degrees, the stem appears to be about the same width as the nub on the bottom piece (see picture). If you lay the bottom piece flat, does the nub line up w/ the stem? If so, that suggests they were joined at one time.

Interesting idea! Let me check...
