Bridle piece?

I only had 1 hour to detect the old road near where I found the "lonely matron" last week. I broadened my search and after finding bullets, shotgun caps, and rifle shells I had 15 minutes to go. Found the pictured item at about 2 inches. Was not hopeful since I had iron reading on my detector. I was very happily surprised, then , to pull this out! it has a heart on the front, very rusty in back. Just before I had to leave, I found the other iron item. I show my ignorance in asking this, but could it be a stirrup? I didn't think they would be iron (heavy), but I know many of you know the answer. Nice finds! The brass item does appear to be a bridle rosette. The iron piece may be the center section to a plow yoke. I took a photo of the one I have...they look fairly similar.



I found this link to an old auction for a heart rosette that looks almost identical to yours.
