Bristol Well And The Stone Teepees

I recently sent a good friend of mine pictures of a ghost town I had visited without any explantion . She lives in Oklahoma and it never occured to me she may have never seen anything like this before . When she wrote back she asked me " what the stone teepees were for ? . It took me a second then it dawned on me she was talking about the charcoal kilns . These things are all over Nevada , I wrote back and explained to her that they were used to make charcoal for the mills and smelters .
