Opinions? I am thinking broach more then a sash buckle. I got it straighten out. But broke the bar loose on one end. Two holes possible for a pin? I never seen anything like it and I can't find anything like it. Definitely stamped brass and pretty thin. 1-5/8" square. Found today in a Confederate camp site, about 25 yards from where I found a CS Belt Plate last Saturday. It is also a old house site, so it could very well be post war.

A civil war relics dealer and friend just told me "Appears to be a mid-1800s lady's waist sash plate to me."
