put a penny reverse up to the obverse of another penny, strike with a hammer and you got Post mint damage.
 

I tried it a few times and failed...but I guess someone could do it.
 

a Vice will work also

& believe it or not Elmers glue

Glue 2 together for a week then pry them apart
the one the glue sticks to will sometimes look like it has a double image
since elmers drys clear.
of course fire will melt it off, it can sometimes look surprisingly real.

the fact it's a reverse image doesn't help.

of course I know nothing of the real thing

Jeff, now that you mention it, I looked closer at the coin and it has a tiny tiny bit of clear glue left on the coin. I'm still going to keep though because it looks cool. haha
 

This is the one I found that 2 coin shops said is probably authentic
