I have a similar spot where I like to dig. Same problem, everything is broken. I think that the wetter places have more freezing and thawing that break the bottles. Keep looking and I am sure you will find several whole bottles.
Dont forget to update with new pics of those whole bottles.....

cuddles17981,

do some serious searching. Bring a big
shovel. ;) Could be a lot more in that
location. Dig a mess of holes, dig down
until you no longer find shards. Could be
an old dumping grounds in the area.

Follow the shards ;)

Hope you find a bunch. ;D

have a good un.........

Thanks jeff for that article is was extremely helpful. I group up next to the brewery on clay street(vacant of course) we use to play behind there .. I remember us kids use to dare one another to go into what I know now to be where they must of kept the finish product. It was a entrance built directly into the hill.. We were told that it was never ending(to keep us out im sure, lol) My dad's(before my dad was born) 5 year old brother fell thru the brewery roof in 1933. It was so easy to access.. one step up and you were there. He fell like 18 feet thru the roof onto the floor. The building is there and is being used as storage for someone's equipment and he just destroyed the area,IMO,everything behind it ,wich was full of Pine trees that were all cut down and the make shift refrigeration was filled in...I wish I knew then what I know now..Like I said we played there often in the 70's and early 80's. I bet there was tons of bottles to be easily found. I remember in the 90's when the guy bought it,he had backhoes and such up and down it the area behind it. Thanks everyone for the great advice.. !

Nice finds. I would definitly go back and poke around there some more. SWR nailed the insulator, CD102 and judging by the mold shape and color, i would say brookfield.

Thanks for sharing.
