Found on old shipwreck in Caribbean. Looks like a weight for a scale but it weighs about 3lbs 3 ounces or 1043 grams so it seems a strange amount of weight for a scale.

Not certain of what it is, but think your conversion is a bit off. 3.3 lbs is ~1500 grams. If the ~1000g weight is correct, guessing that could be a 1kilo scale weight?

My guess is a weight for a clock. Maybe a grandfather clock or something similar.
