More from this field.... And some coins are in very good condition, does it had a good plow? Like the brown patina on the Denarius. Congrats!

No, it's due a deeper plough after the oilseed rape. We have had 2 bad years from this field, so this was a real surprise. Only doing it because of the large area of failed crop!

some coins cru

Congrats and keep em coming

Very very nice denarius Cru. Interesting fibula under the iron buckle. At first I was thinking a broken (integral) buckle plate. (Whenever I read your posts, I first try and challenge myself with ID's to help learn)

Cheers and congrats on your Roman silver streak!

Congratualtions on another great hunt! :notworthy:

The most famous Roman ruins in England. Hadrians Wall? A silver of Hadrian. Doesnt get much better than that if you ask me

Nice finds, the older large bronzes must be welcome digs. I see a Dupondius, are the others the same or asses?

Actually the left is a light (but very thick) Ses. of Faustina Junior. The other 2 are Dupondius of Dominitian (Don't find many of him).

Great on another denarius ! I too like the patina on those larger bronzes , must be a surprise to see them come out that nice . As you likely know we have zinc cents in the U.S. (since 1982) they come out rotting badly after a couple years in the dirt .

Yeap, whats more surprising is that we have missed them gridding that area for years!

Cool, thanks for the rundown on the bronzes. I'm not sure how the debased later imperial denominations related to eachother in actual purchasing power but a sestertius and 2 dupondii together were worth 1/2 a denarius, which would have bought 2 loaves of bread, a liter of pretty good wine or a rendezvous with a lady of the night, heh. Hope you find more of those nice fat bronzes, they are quite appealing.

Congrats on some more Roman silver!
