Today we spent 6 hours gridding as much of the known area as possible, probably finished about 90% of it. They were drilling the other half of the field as we arrived!
Brooch Field lived up to its name again & gave us a scarce Emperor as well!

6 Roman Fibula/Brooches (most broken up)
1 Iron Age (Celtic) Fibula
36 Roman Bronze Coins
1817 Sixpence
Denarius of Hadrian
Debased Silver Ant. of Hostilian, only Emperor for 5 months in AD251 (New Emperor for the collection, doesn't happen often now-a-days)
Roman Child's Silver Ring (another Treasure find to hand in)

The Hadrianus is in good condition and the Antonian looks ok too! Very good day topped with a treasure find. :hello2:

Funny how it works out; I had the Hadrian on the first run & Cru'dad got the Ant. on the last run! (of that side of the field)

Amazing Historical finds as usual Cru.
I need to learn more about European history so I can better understand your finds . The Roman Child's ring is Cool !

amazing finds

This was an OUTSTANDING day for you, Congratulations, Crusader!

Wonderful finds as always and congrats on a new Emperor coin! Question I'm sure you've been asked a thousand times. Must you report these type of finds to the local historian/archaeologist there in the UK? I'm sure if you found a hoard of gold coins etc. that would make sense, but how about the common Roman bronze coins etc.?

John

None of these coins need legally reporting, its only the Roman Silver Ring.

Very nice. I always like your finds.
