It looks like a hoe or a tobacco knife/ax/harvester of some kind.

I think a Hoe and there was a wooden handle that went to it at one time. Pretty cool find....Tommy

my guess is it's a window hoe. most likely homemade

When I read the title I thought you found a brother and he was heavy! Don't you know "He ain't heavy, he's my brother!"

After taking another look I've changed my mind . The hole that the handle goes through is not positioned right to be a hoe.

I now think it is a roof ripper, for removing roofing material before re-roofing.
