Buckle age

Was going through some box's of older finds to put in new display case and came across this buckle. Would it date to late 1600s? 1700s? Just ordered the ross whitehead book so I can read up more on buckles. Thanks.

1690-1720. The other half that broken off was probably oval in shape.
