buckle found... ID wanted

i found this a few days ago and posted it already but i figured i'd single it out...
can anybody tell me how old it is?
what would it have been from?

its about 2.5 in x 1 in...

Looks like 7 dots on each side of the horseshoe shaped things at the end. I heard that 7 was a lucky number because they used 7 nails in the shoeshoe. Not sure if there is any connect with 'luck' here, but it seems it. Although yours has 7 on each side & not 7 in total Maybe I'm thinking too much
