Alrighty. I've researched this buckle a bit more (actually found a buckle book). It could be an undergarment buckle. Like a corset or maternity/support wear type thing. Since it's not decorative or anything like that, it seems like the buckle is not meant to be seen. Kinds neat. Makes me wonder if there was some hanky-panky going on oustside the old cellar hole 100 years ago. Probably just broke and was tossed out, but makes wonder how it got there, who wore it, how long did they live there, etc...
