Hi,
I found these items at the same site and wondering about the piece that looks rather claw like. It doesn't exactly look like a buckle, yet it seems to have a bit of leather still attached. It has a Pat D of June 3 1879. I have googled this date and patent but haven't found info yet. Any ideas? Thanks! Kim

The piece on the right appears to be something different, with a different patent date. Dec 1, '74, I think?

Here is the patent on that buckle: https://www.google.com/patents/US157395

Thanks, Iron Buzz! That is more than I could find. 1874 could be the patent year and would make sense! Much appreciated!
