This is a photo of a buckle I found at a 1801 house site it is either copper or brass and has a polished stone inset and ram and horns on the stone collar.Found an axe head and plate with oyster shells and other relics from the civil war.I thought the buckle was a Victorian butterfly sash but im told that its some other type.Vermont copper also from site that I believe due to next to a spring it was a campsite. At this site I pulled out of the ground in pieces what looks to be a sword blade measured at 26 inches in sections. The owner said there was no way that oyster shells where found on her property.Anybody date the plate and the buckle chime in.vanzutphen
