Found this buckle at old house that was built around 1910-1915, it's made of brass after cleaning in Metal Rescue have been able to get the it to operate. There appears to be some type cotton strapping in the part where the hole is, it would accommodate a strap about 3/4 of inch wide. I have told that it is the chinch buckle of a World War 1 back pack or ruck sack. If any knows for sure please let me know, it's interesting find. I do not think it is a suspender clip, leaning more toward being something to do with military either World War 1 or World War 2.
