My friend Joe and I went to an old park near downtown. I started out finding a buffalo nickel within the first few minutes. A while later I found a coin spill with a mercury dime and 3 more buffalo nickels. In 2 years of detecting I had only found 3 buffs prior to today.

Totals: 2.99 in clad, 2 wheats (both 1952-D), 1925 merc, 4 buffalo nickels (1935, 1936, 1936, 1936)

Sweet. I don't think I have found four Buffalo Nickels ever!! Good job.

Great day! I had two merc's the other day and I was pumped. After finding only 1 all of last year.

Hope you find many more.

Pete

Wow! Great hunt! What did the buffs ring in at on the ATP?

Nickels consistently ring up in the 51-53 range, unfortunately so does can slaw and bent pull tabs.

Great finds Reed! Thanks for sharing...

Wow you had a great day. Still waiting on my first buffalo. Found a 1912 V nickel a week ago. Thanks for sharing your story.

Nice job on the buffs, nice merc too..

Very nice. I have yet to find a Buff... to be honest, I'm too lazy top dig the 53s. I dig a few at the beginning of each hunt, then after a few pull tabs appear, I give up. Good to see some treasure coming out of NC.

Thx. I always dig the solid & "tight" 51-53 tones and have found shield and Vs, but no buffs or war nickels yet--just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing them somehow.
