Went with Jeff of pa this morning and had a nice hunt. I found a no date buffalo, a 44 wheat, a flat button that has treble gilt standard written on the back. it is worn smooth on the front. anyone know and estimate date of the flat button? i also got a hand full of clad from a couple of hunts... Thanks for looking

Nice old button there. I'm no expert, but I guess it could date from the mid to early 1800's. Looks like you had plenty of targets to dig!

Jim, what causes the button to wear flat like that?? use?

I found what I believe is a VT Militia button with a flat front. Really bummed it doesn't have the front. Just about to post it on here, keep an eye out to check it out.

we need to give that park
another try sometime Jim !

i think so too. Jeff
