Sweet!
Was that minted at Westpoint?

BK,
Yes, it was minted at West Point. The W mint mark is next to the Indian's neck.

WOW!!!! Not to be nosey. But what does something like that go for? Also what does the 50 mean?, one ounce of gold surly goes for more than 50?
Mike

Backitup,
The mint has to put a nominal value on it so it can be called a coin. In this case, the nominal value is $50.00. In actuality it cost $800.00 straight from the mint.

That is one beautiful coin! I finally got to see one in person the other day at the coin shop. I was surprised at how big it was. From all the pictures I saw, I always figured it to be about the size of a Buff Nickel... boy was I shocked when it turned out to be the size of a Half Dollar.

It is a beauty!

Leave it up to the gov. to put a 50 dollar amount. Nice coin though.

Mike

Beautiful coin. That design is one of my favorites. I have a soft spot in my heart for the actual buffalo nickel. That gold version is a real beaut. Do you know how many they minted (will mint)?

gorgeous coin!
