Hi
After being MIA for several days, it's good to be back on the forum; missed you all; computer had viruses and all screens were
frozen. All is fine now.
Out today in the breezy, sunny, brisk weather...hunted dry sand at high tide ; found the "Buff" about 6 " down in dry sand. It was great to see the date on this one; most "Buffs" that I recover from salty beaches are very worn , and with either a faint date, or total absence of date due to erosion.
A couple of days ago, I was hunting the "muddy flats" and was pleasantly surprised to dig up a vintage lead toy soldier. What surprised me was that it was intact; the rifle was in position on a movable arm.
Not sure if it is British or French...the headgear is confusing to me.
The jacket has the "X" figure with buttons on either side.
It just needs a good paint job and I think it would look terrific.
Maybe someone can help with the ID
Here is a link to info on the History of lead toy soldiers:

Thanks for looking.
