It rained all day today in SW Florida, so I took "She who must be obeyed" to Fishemans Village in Punta Gorda for a day of shopping. Spent a lot of time in the Military Museum, and met a fellow vet who was also stationed in Turkey. We laughed and reminisced about our common experiences while there. Always good to share stories with fellow vets.
The rain finally let up around three, so while Mama washed some clothes for our departure on Friday, I went to a nearby Cape Coral park where I was teaching her how to use the Bounty Hunter. My first find was a no-date buffalo nickel with a D mint mark!
This predated the 1955D penny from the other day by quite a bit. I ended up digging another four modern nickels and a bunch of clad. After about an hour, I hit a high tone next to a picnic pavilion, and ended up with a 1956 homemade quarter ring!
SILVER!!!
Mama sent a text and said it was time to go tie in the feed bag, so that ended the hunting for today. For a short hunt, I was pleased with my finds. One more day in paradise, so we’ll see what she wants to do tomorrow before heading back to snow country. Hopefully I’ll have another day with some good finds to post tomorrow. Wish me luck!
