I forgot to post this one yesterday. Things got busy and the finds weren’t anything to write home about, as I chose the wrong direction to hunt in.
I met a fellow detectorist as soon as I got on the beach, who also had an Equinox 600. We chatted for awhile, and he asked me how many bullets I’d dug. Bullets...? NONE was my answered. He then told me that the military used to do maneuvers off the coast, and he’s found lots of bullets over the years. Interesting...
We parted company and I went off to where I wanted to hunt. Within about ten minutes, I dug an 18-19 signal that turned out to be what appears to be a 5,56mm round. Throughout the rest of the hunt I dug two more rounds that look to be 30cal rounds. What were the odds of digging three bullets after that conversation? He was certainly good karma for me.
Best dig of the day? Hot Wheels Chevy Silverado pickup truck!
