Interesting find. How were you able to ID it? Do I see some engraving on it including a wheel of some kind?

I posted it to a FB group and got feedback. I'm not seeing any other examples though. Looking at a buggy diagram, it looks like it would be a shaft tip. There is a buggy on the piece.

Interesting, thanks. I can see the buggy on the piece now too. The wheel I noticed before is part of it.
 

That image looks more like a motorized vehicle than it does a buggy. Can you please post some more photos? Thanks.

That's a car on the find as it has front and rear fenders, along with a steering wheel..
 

I can see those 2 wheels, fenders and the steering wheel shaft too now! Also the driver holding onto the wheel. A very early car it appears to be. Amazing what more eyes can reveal!

It must my eyes playing that game again-but it sure looks like a character riding on the back.
