here is an idea, bury them in your backyard and then dig em up and sell em on ebay as detector finds!!! I am dead serious!
I sell ALL my DUG wheats on ebay. I list them as metal detector finds. I say they are dirty, uncleaned, all mixed yrs and mint marks, some have corrosion, and scratches. I average 6-8 cents a piece. Crazy I know.....what are people thinking
Really? I put all the corroded ones into the plain copper pile with 59-82's. Those people are nuts. You actually dig up that many wheats?
I dug about 900 wheats in 2011, and wheats mean nothing to me........
They should, I would suggest looking into what you have just to play it safe when you find them.
1909 S * $63.00 $175.0
1909 S VDB * $500.00 $1,000.00
1914 D * $250.00 $1,500.00
1922 (no D) * $600.00 $12,000.00
1931 S * $42.20 $95.00
1943 Bronze * $18,000.00 $80,000.00
1943 D Bronze * -- $1,000,000.00
1943 S Bronze * $65,000.00 --
1944 Steel * $4,000.00 $75,000.00
1955/55 * $650.00 $1,500.00
I know the chances of finding any of those are slim but you just never know
My best find was a 1910 worth about 60 cents. I am after precious metals more than coin numismatic value but I wont scoff at a 60x value increase on anything.
