✅ SOLVED Button back ID

Found today at old cellar hole in woods of central MA...Says BEST and has an eagle up top..with stars on both sides down to BEST...nothing on front so thought maybe just the back of a 2 piece button...anyone know when or who made?

"Best" meaning "Best Quality" - The eagle means American made.. After the War of 1812 the Americans took pride in in making buttons and making buttons with an American Eagle on the back-mark. The button dates to around the 1820s time frame.. 1820s-1830s

When you say "nothing on front" is it just flat? picture of the front would be nice.

Thank you for the info...makes total sense..yes, the front is flat with nothing on it
